Ron DeSantis wins Republican nomination for Florida Governor

Ron DeSantis won the Florida Republican primary and advanced to the general election for governor.
Andrew Gillum won the Democratic Primary. DeSantis and Gillum will go against each other during the general election on Nov. 6.
President Trump openly endorsed DeSantis’ campaign, “Ron will be a fantastic governor,” Trump said.
DeSantis was able to defeat Adam Putnam in Florida’s Republican primary with 56 percent of the vote while Putnam garnered only 36 percent. DeSantis wants to prevent the influx of illegal immigrants from settling in Florida.
“He is the most liberal candidate that the Democratic Party has ever nominated in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said when asked about his competition on Fox News.
It’s no secret that when it comes to government policy DeSantis and Gillum are on opposite ends of the political meter.
On education, DeSantis wants to eliminate Common Core, promote vocational training, provide families with more educational choices and promote the study of the Constitution.
