Hillsborough loses to Tampa Bay Tech 28-27

Yesterday, at 7:30 p.m., the Terriers faced the undefeated Titans and fell short of a win with a failed two-point conversion.

In the first quarter, Will Gillespy scored and left the team up by seven points, until Tech tied the game with 5 minutes left on the clock. However, Terence Doston caught a pass and the Terriers ended the quarter with a seven-point lead.

Within the second quarter, Tech was able to score on an interception and got another touchdown less than 10 minutes later putting the Titans in the lead at 21-14. To end the half, Doston scored again and the game went into halftime with a tied score of 21-21.

“I made some big plays in big situations,” Doston said. “And as a team, I think we did good, In some situations the game just didn’t go our way.”

In the third quarter, Tech scored and left the score at 28-21.

With only 1 minute and 10 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, Adonis Johnson scores. At this point, a decision was made, either kick and get the extra point to tie the game, or go for two and win it. The team decided to go for two, however, they did not make it and ended the game with a score of 28-27.
