Hillsborough’s Track & Field, both boys and girls’ teams, took home first place overall at Friday’s Class 3A, Region 3 meet. Hillsborough beat runner-up Fort Myers 105.5-77 for the boys and 102-69 for the girls. This year’s regional meet was held at Clearwater High.

They had 10 athletes that qualified for states, two of whom broke school records. Duran Bell finished the 200m Dash with (21.30) and Savyon Toombs finished in the same girl’s race with (23.71).

Times were updated live by Elite Timing and Event Management throughout the meet that lasted 10 hours. It was also covered by the Tampa Bay Times in a Prep Sports Report.

Next weekend’s state meet will be held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.
