The boys soccer team secured a win over Brandon last night with a final score of 4-0.

The boys started and finished strong. The first two goals were scored by sophomore Christian Cuevas near the beginning of the first half. The second set of goals was scored by senior captain Nikhil Saligame in the minutes leading up to the game’s end.

The team expressed their pleasure each time a goal was scored through a collection of cheers. Saligame’s performance was exciting for him as well. Of his goals, he said, “I was really happy to score on what could be my last home game ever at HHS.”

The team, although pleased with their win, did lament missed opportunities. There were many shots throughout the game which could’ve been taken but were not. The teammates’ passing and possession of the ball, as well, was apparently not up to par.

Senior player Alex Hernandez conveyed these mixed feelings about the team’s performance, stating, “It wasn’t the best game we have played but it was nice that we were able to pull out a win to remain undefeated at home this season.”
