Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter have been a lot quieter since the Oct. 2 attack on Kim Kardashian in Paris.
Five men dressed as cops asked the concierge in the No Address Hotel in Paris, France, “Where’s the rapper’s wife?” so they could continue to go to Kardashian’s room, tie her up and steal $10 million worth of jewelry.
Before the incident, Kardashian upheld her usual social media presence, posting her location, outfits and more hourly. I believe that this active presence on social media is what made her so accessible to the robbers. Not even an hour before the robbery, she posted a Snapchat of her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier, leaving the premises with her two other sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. This could have been the green light that the robbers were waiting for, so that they could carry on their crime.
Kardashian’s close friend, Simone Harouche, was the one next door who heard noise from the robbery and called Duvier. Duvier and others found Kim in the aftermath of the situation.
I don’t think that it’s Duvier’s fault for Kardashian’s lack of protection. Kardashian, not thinking she needed protection in her own hotel room, allowed Duvier to go out with her sisters instead of making sure she was safe. He was just following orders. Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, are also very familiar with the hotel so she probably didn’t think anything like this would ever occur. I don’t think that the suspects are anyone affiliated with the Kardashians. Due to the family’s presence on the Internet, it could’ve been very easy for this to be an outside job. Since the suspects asked the concierge about the “rapper’s wife,” the suspects were most likely outside sources because if they weren’t, they would’ve asked for Kardashian by her name.
Kardashian hasn’t tweeted since the day of the accident and has not been present on any other media platform. She has also postponed the filming of her reality TV show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” She has instead been spending time with her family and husband. Hopefully, she can recover from this traumatic accident and get back to being her old, famous self.
