Where do students park and is there a charge?

“Turn off of North Dale Mabry and it’s on the side of Steinbrenner Field and turn right after you see the field into the parking lot,” senior SGA president Gaby Fernandez said. “There will be signs directing people, they do not have to pay to park,” Stefanie Zimmerman said.

How does the USF game effect homecoming?

“There will be maximum traffic now, so just to minimize traffic, carpooling is encouraged,” senior Asia Mosley said. “They have a few hundred parking spots, so it should be fine for students,” Zimmerman said.

What do students do if they arrive early?

“If they do get there early and the gate isn’t open yet, they can take pictures. Steinbrenner is a really beautiful place, they have nice walkways and everything,” Zimmerman said.

When do ticket prices increase and to what?

Oct. 13, to $50

When is homecoming court voting?

“Voting will be set up the end of the day today through an Edsby poll,” Zimmerman said.

What do students need?

“They need an ID, they should probably bring another pair of shoes, if it’s a girl that’s wearing heels, bring sandals just in case. I don’t know if you want to be barefoot on the concrete and your ticket,” Fernandez said.

Is there a dress code?

“It’s nothing too strict, as long as it is standardized and acceptable. You can wear strapless and off the shoulder,” Mosley said. “Boys have to wear dress pants, they cannot wear jeans or shorts and a dressy top,” Fernandez said.

What should students expect at homecoming?

“The dance floor is outdoors and we are going to have fans provided so they won’t be extremely hot. There is a cooling station in an indoor building where the food will also be and we will have an upstairs area with seating and food as well,” Fernandez said.

What is the food?

“You have to find out when you get there,” Mosley said.

Will there be glow sticks?

“Yes, a limited amount,” Fernandez said.

How did you come up with the theme?

“When we figured out it was going to be Steinbrenner, the NY Yankees, we went along with that and incorporated the team and the NY theme together” Fernandez said.

Other considerations:

On Oct. 14 from 4 p.m. to 11.p.m. Oktoberfest is held at Curtis Hixon Waterfront park. Other homecoming photograph options include:

University of Tampa: The UT campus is located at Kennedy and Hyde Park and offers 110 landscaped acres and a riverfront backdrop for photograph opportunities.

Ybor City: Ybor City, located at 7th Ave. at E Tampa, famous for restaurants at night light, has preserved cigar factories, casitas and balconied storefronts. Founded in 1886, this historic town provides photograph backdrops as well as numerous restaurants.

Harbor Island: This downtown area offers restaurants as well as a waterfront view.
