Nowadays, it seems like almost everything is switching from paper to electronic, and the 2016-2017 Hillsborough County Public Schools report cards are no exception.
Students have conflicted feelings. Some, like sophomore Evelise Monteagudo, find it more convenient. She said the virtual ones are “easier to see” and “[with] the printed ones, you had to wait longer.” She said that she also appreciates the downloadable PDF feature. Freshman Trarell Howard would rather keep the printed report cards. “My parents try to get it on paper because sometimes they can’t get online access [or] internet,” he said. Sophomore William Andrews agrees with Howard’s opinion but for a different reason. “Now if I get bad grades on my report card, I can’t say I lost it,” he said.
To access report cards online, students need to enter their PIN code along with student information or district user ID and password (the same as their Edsby login). The PIN code will be the same as last year’s report card. To view the report card with the PIN code, students will need a birth date, student number and student PIN. If a PIN code has not yet been received, go to the report card website and click on “Request a PIN.” The website also has an informational video for additional help.\
