Apple’s latest release of the iPhone 7 as well as the Apple Watch Series 2 has been on everyone’s mind. It has many new features, the most popular being water resistance.

But some believe it comes at an expense. There will no longer be a headphone jack on the iPhone to make it splash and water resistant. Junior Jenna Callison said she is “not looking forward to [the new iPhone] not having an audio jack” adding that the phone’s size will make it harder to find and keep track of. However Senior Humberto Hilario likes the headphone jack being removed and said that “we’re supposed to be the wireless generation” and that it will help “when you’re exercising.” The AirPods will be available in late October for $159.

As far as actually purchasing the new iPhone, students aren’t sure they’ll be getting one. Sophomore Sadei Demezier said that she doesn’t think that she will because she got the iPhone 6s last year.

The plus version of the new iPhone will have two cameras that will shoot as one to improve the quality and double the optical zoom. Sophomore Amanda Guillermo said that the two cameras on the back are “a good idea.”

Other new features include: a new home button, new camera, new software and the longest battery life of any iPhone.

Apple premiered the new addition to its line of iPhones in a keynote held on Sept. 7. The iPhone 7 will be available for pre-order Sept. 9 and available for purchase Sept. 16 starting at $649 for the regular size and $769 for the plus.
