Bites in the Heights: Trip’s Diner

In the first of our series of Seminole Heights restaurant reviews, Web EIC Jaden Shemesh went to local restaurant Trip’s Diner, here’s what he had to say:

Trip’s Diner is well-known to those in Seminole Heights. With its nostalgic diner design and laughably large portions, it’s become renowned as the go-to hangout spot for Hillsborough students wanting a classic American meal.

Parking can be a hassle on popular days, but Trip’s food makes it well worth the struggle. Whether you’re in the mood for breakfast, lunch or dinner, Trip’s has your back. My go to is the big breakfast platter, but every now and then I switch it up and order the breakfast Cuban because I’m a sucker for sandwiches. The big breakfast platter is a typical breakfast with a giant “hubcap” pancake, that I’m usually too full to eat by that point. The rest of the menu consists of eggs, bacon, burritos, burgers and of course, pies. The inviting environment and endless amount of food will make your mouth water and have you returning for another meal within days.

It’s by no means a fancy excursion, but sometimes you’re just in the mood for good food and service. You’ll leave with a smile and a full stomach.
