The sun shines brightly on the many white tents that litter the lawn of Hillsborough high school on Sunday morning. Laughter can be heard as friends and family enjoy the music of local performers while browsing through the multiple products presented to them.
Unaware to many terriers, every second Sunday of the month Hillsborough High school hosts the Seminole Heights fresh market from October to April. The fresh market is a family friendly event accompanied by local vendors who gather on the lawn of the school to promote and sell their products that they have worked on. The market usually has a great turnout of 300+ people and around 70 to 80 vendors.
At the fresh market there is something for everybody to do. Food vendors lined by the parking lot offer a variety of delectable snacks ranging from french crepes to popsicles to savory pockets. While munching on food one can make their way to the shade to be entertained by local performers. The performers sing original songs as well as covers, setting a chill vibe to the event.After grabbing a bite to eat, there is a maze of tents to explore that showcase the many vendors and their talents. Each vendor is unique and has something that will appeal to almost everyone.
The next Seminole Heights fresh market held at Hillsborough high school will be on Oct.8.
